The idea of creating infAIrence® came from the observation that Artificial Intelligence (AI) was suffering, in France, from a lack of deployment within companies. A study from BPIFrance reported that 75% of SME managers do not use generative AI! Yet AI is an area that through the solutions it brings must allow them to achieve a quantum leap in their value creation, making the most of their data. According to McKinsey, in 2023, generative AI alone would have generated an increase of $400-$900 billion in global GDP.
While it is always difficult to give a definitive definition of AI, we can agree that AI aims at providing solutions to complex problems, intelligence in the classical sense being characterized by the ability to grasp and solve complexity.
Etymologically, «complex» comes from the Latin «cum plexus», «with links», which translates the fact that the complex object is made up of components interacting with each other through their links. The more components involved, the more complex the object. The archetype of the object is the human brain composed of a hundred billion neurons interacting with each other through a million billion synapses!
Without entering into the theory of systems, with particular reference to the notion of emergent properties, the main feature of complex systems is to escape analysis, approach which is nevertheless the natural human approach to understand and model phenomena/ systems. This approach is the centre of the second principle of Descartes' Discourses of the Method with his «Divide each difficulty in order to better examine and solve them». But how to put into equations (analytical approach) authentically complex phenomena having a very large dimension wich overwhelms human capacities ?
The promise of AI, stemming from its demonstrated ability to analyze images, is to produce models of these complex systems that humans cannot establish because of their too limited understanding. A system model is the fundamental basis for problem solving related to this system. When this modelling is based on the exploitation of the input and output data of the system in question, it is referred to as machine learning. The information contained in these data allows to substitute itself to the knowledge from the analytical approach.
With the experience of its founder Patrick BOUTARD bringing together more than 35 years of engineering complex systems and especially these last 7 years with embedded AI for safety-critical applications, infAIrence® was created to enable companies that want to “get into AI” to do so in a pragmatic and secure way. Thanks to this AI, these companies will deploy solutions allowing them to improve their existing products/ services/ processes or even to deploy new ones, thus developing their positions in their markets. In addition to the architecture of the solutions, their development and operational deployment, infAIrence® also offers AI training for better acculturation of teams, to enable them to operate the solutions by themselves and, where appropriate, to ensure that their solutions remain operational.
To the leaders who want to take this step, and those who are in the 75% of BPIFrance’s study, we say:
Do not hesitate any more, take the step for a tailor-made AI, contact us! We are launching infAIrence® for you.”
